Continuing Education The mission of our continuing education program is to provide post-graduate, needs-based educational activities in forensics. Consistent with its mission, the continuing education program provides activities which build and maintain a basic foundation in forensic knowledge, new skills, and attitudes among forensic professionals; explore new knowledge, new skills, and current ethical dilemmas inherent in each discipline; and encourage the dissemination of forensic science problems and solutions across disciplines and across political boundaries. Continuing Education Requirements: Each reporting form requires Adobe® Reader to view. Click here to download if you do not already have it installed. ACFEI members that became Diplomates after June 2001 are expected to submit 15 continuing education credits each year to maintain Diplomate status.
Certified Forensic Consultants (CFC) should submit 15 hours of forensics related continuing education credits each year to maintain status.

Guidelines for obtaining 15 continuing education credits are as follows:
Submit the following to earn continuing education credits from an equivalent organization:
CE credits are NOT expected the calendar year that you receive the certification. The CE Credit reporting period begins on January 1st of the calendar year immediately after you receive the certification. For Example, if you receive your certification certificate in April 2005, then your CE expectation begins January 1, 2006. Any CE submitted during the first year of certification is banked toward the following year. If more than 15 CE are submitted in a calendar year then the excess is credited to the following year. All other ACFEI members and Diplomates that received the designation before June 2001, may participate in a voluntary continuing education program. Continuing education credits through ACFEI will be offered to allow you the opportunity to develop skills and enhance credentials. Any continuing education credits earned through ACFEI will be recorded. Questions regarding clarification of these guidelines Please contact the ACFEI Continuing Education Department by email, phone toll free (800) 423-9737, or fax (417) 881-4702.
